In our social interactions, we will inevitably encounter people who make us uncomfortable, and that’s actually normal. After all, not everyone is able to meet everyone’s preferences and be liked by everyone.

So, What should we do when facing these people who make you uncomfortable?

1. Accept and acknowledge this mindset

There are times when we think we can like everyone around us, but that’s not going to happen.

You will always encounter uncomfortable people who will argue against your views. But smart people understand this fact and they can clearly recognize that conflicts and arguments arise from differences in values.

Perhaps the person you hate isn’t inherently bad and you can’t work with him because you have different values, and it’s the difference in values that creates the gap between you.

Because of the difference in perception, this fact can bring you back from the nice imaginary world to the real world. Acknowledging that differences exist may help you to get along better with those around you.

2. Try to accept

From a behavioral point of view, you need to be around people who have a different point of view than you and people who have the courage to argue to you and who will stop you from making stupid decisions.

Getting along with people who make you uncomfortable is not an easy task, but you need to learn to be fair and calm.

3. Keep a reasonable distance

When we feel that someone makes us uncomfortable, no matter how much we hate them, we don’t need to go overboard in expressing our opinion, we just need to keep an appropriate distance from them.

Human beings are sensitive creatures, and no matter how you feel about someone else, that person will sense your attitude and behavior and treat you in the same way.

When we encounter someone who makes us uncomfortable, all we need to do is minimize our subjective judgments and analyze the situation from an objective point of view.

If the person is really annoying, then it’s important to keep your distance.
